An IndiGo flight flying from Bhubaneswar to Ranchi had a tense moment on Friday evening when the aircraft suffered a tail strike while landing at Ranchi airport. Passengers onboard felt a sudden jolt as the rear part of the plane briefly hit the runway. Despite the scare, all passengers and crew were safe, and no injuries were reported.
Following the incident, airport officials inspected the aircraft and declared it unfit for further operations. As a result, the flight’s return journey to Bhubaneswar was cancelled. With travel plans disrupted, some passengers chose to cancel their trips, while others were accommodated on alternate flights. A few were even transported by road as temporary arrangements were made.
Standard safety checks have been initiated, and authorities are looking into the incident as part of routine procedures. Officials reiterated that passenger safety was never compromised, even as operations were adjusted to deal with the situation.
