Regional airline Fly91 has announced plans to introduce daily flights between Kochi and Agatti, further expanding its growing network and strengthening connectivity in South India. This move is part of the airline’s strategy to increase frequency on popular regional routes and broaden its reach to underserved destinations, bringing its total number of served stations to 15.
The new Kochi–Agatti service will operate every day, offering travellers reliable and frequent travel options between the commercial hub of Kochi and the scenic archipelago of Lakshadweep. Agatti, known for its pristine beaches and as a gateway to the region’s unique island destinations, has historically seen limited connectivity, making the daily service a welcome development for tourists as well as local residents.
Fly91’s leadership highlighted that the decision to launch daily operations on this route reflects strong travel demand and the airline’s commitment to supporting regional economic activity. By linking a major urban centre with a rapidly developing island destination, the airline hopes to stimulate both leisure tourism and business travel, while offering greater choice to flyers who previously relied on infrequent or seasonal connections.
Passengers flying on the new route can expect modern turboprop aircraft suited for short-haul operations, with onboard amenities designed for comfort on regional hops. The airline has emphasised punctuality, simple booking processes, and friendly service as core parts of its customer proposition, aiming to make domestic flying a smooth and affordable experience.
With this addition, Fly91’s route map now stretches across fifteen destinations, reflecting its steady expansion since launch. The airline has been systematically adding links between Tier Two and Tier Three cities, and unique leisure spots, positioning itself as a nimble regional player in India’s competitive domestic aviation market. Its network growth aligns with broader industry trends that seek to connect secondary cities and tourist hotspots more effectively.
Local tourism stakeholders in both Kochi and Lakshadweep have welcomed the announcement. Operators note that better flight connectivity can help sustain longer stays, boost hotel occupancy, and ease travel logistics for tour operators. They also underscored the potential for business travel growth as improved schedule options attract more corporate and institutional flyers to the region.
The airline has initiated marketing campaigns to promote the new daily flights, including special introductory fares, collaborative promotions with local travel partners, and focused outreach to frequent flyers. Customers are encouraged to book early to secure the best rates, particularly during peak travel seasons and holidays when demand traditionally rises.
Fly91’s expansion comes amid a period of resurgence for the domestic aviation sector, with growing passenger volumes and renewed interest in regional connectivity. Airlines across India are adapting to shifting travel patterns by introducing new routes, increasing flight frequencies, and enhancing service offerings. Fly91’s daily Kochi–Agatti service represents its latest effort to capitalise on these trends while delivering practical travel options to a broader base of customers.
