India’s aviation maintenance sector received a boost as Haveus Aerotech announced that it has secured approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to expand its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services across its facilities in Bengaluru and Delhi. The development marks a significant milestone for the Gurugram-based aviation services company as it strengthens its footprint in the country’s rapidly growing aviation ecosystem.
With the latest approval, the company’s Bengaluru facility will now be able to handle specialised aircraft components including galley equipment, avionics systems, and life-saving equipment used onboard aircraft. The expansion also makes the Bengaluru unit the first authorised service station in South India approved by Safran Cabin Germany, a global leader in aircraft interior solutions. This partnership enhances the facility’s ability to support airlines with high-quality maintenance and repair services for critical aircraft components.
At the same time, Haveus Aerotech’s Delhi facility has received regulatory approval to manage environmental and temperature-controlled cargo containers. This capability is particularly important for the safe transportation of sensitive cargo such as pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and perishable goods that require strict temperature regulation during air transport. According to the company, this approval is a first-of-its-kind capability for an MRO provider in India.
The expansion further strengthens the company’s presence across both northern and southern regions of India, allowing it to provide a seamless dual-region support network for airlines and aviation operators. In addition to the newly approved services, the company’s facilities in North India have also broadened their capabilities to include aircraft cabin interior repairs and advanced fabrication work, enabling a more comprehensive maintenance portfolio.
Industry experts believe that such developments are crucial for India’s ambition to become a global aviation maintenance hub. As the country’s airline industry expands rapidly with large aircraft orders and growing passenger demand, the need for reliable domestic MRO services has become increasingly important. Strengthening local maintenance capabilities can help airlines reduce dependency on overseas repair facilities, cut operational costs, and minimise aircraft downtime.
Haveus Aerotech stated that investments in infrastructure and partnerships with global original equipment manufacturers are key to improving efficiency and reliability in aviation maintenance within India. By building advanced technical capabilities domestically, the company aims to support the country’s aviation growth while contributing to the broader “Make in India” initiative in the aerospace sector.
As airlines continue to expand fleets and flight networks, the demand for specialised maintenance services is expected to rise sharply. Developments like these signal a growing maturity in India’s aviation support ecosystem and highlight the increasing role of private MRO providers in strengthening the industry’s long-term sustainability.
